In the beginning, The Spark of the Gods
A mythic prelude to the sign of Aries.
The first Star Sign was born
Once upon a time, long before the stars were read and the planets whispered secrets into the ethos, there was only Chaos – a vast formless void, heavy with potential. No sky. No Earth. No fire. No breath. Only darkness, humming with possibility.
Then from the womb of chaos, from this nothingness, came something, the silence was broken, and the first forms of order emerged.
Gaia, the Earth Mother, rose from the depths – rich, fertile, and alive with the pulse of creation. She gave birth to the mountains, oceans, and forests. Then came Uranus, the sky, wrapping around her like a cloak of stars. From their union were born the first divine beings, the Titans which laid the foundation for everything that would come: life, death, love, and rebellion, stirring the cosmos into motion.
But the gods, as they often do, warred. The old were overthrown by the new, and soon Zues (Jupiter) was King of Olympus and ruled from the heavens. But Zues, though mighty, felt a longing, he wanted his own pets, mini gods with consciousness. Zues called on his longtime faithful friend Prometheus, meaning “foresight”, to help him with this task.
Prometheus searched for the perfect clay and moulded it into clay figures. Man was created by the four elements with Zues’s spit mixed into the head of the clay, which was then dried in the sun. Athena then breathed life into the clay figures inspiring them with qualities of wisdom, instinct, craft, and sense.
The elements wove together to birth the human soul.
They were never to have fire, as with fire Zues said they could rise and challenge the gods, by thinking of themselves as equals. Zues admired his creation, but he did not trust it. He feared the potential of these beings and forbade the giving of fire, the sacred flame reserved for only the gods.
But Prometheus loved humankind more than any god should and he saw their potential and hunger for knowledge. Against Zues’s command Prometheus climbed Mount Olympus and stole a spark of divine fire from Hephaestus - Greek god of fire, metalwork, and craftsmanship, for humankind to protect themselves. The gods gave us bones and breathe, but it was Prometheus who gave us purpose.
This was no ordinary flame; it was the spark of inspiration.
The flame of imagination, courage, rebellion, and transformation.
With fire we began to create, and it is this light of curiosity that burns within every soul.
This was the moment humanity became more than form, it was when we remembered we were divine.
That sacred flame
The one born from stolen fire and Athena’s breath,
will blaze again in the tale of Aries, the celestial Ram,
and the quest for the Golden Fleece.
Because once the gods give you fire……….
