PLUTO

Hades and Persephone with her pomegrate.

After the great war when Zeus overthrew his father Cronus and claimed the sky, his brother Hades was given dominion over the underworld—a vast realm beneath the earth, home to the souls of the dead. The underworld held five great rivers, and all souls crossed the river Styx, ferried by Charon, who demanded a coin for passage.

Though he ruled over death, Hades was not malevolent. Stern but just, respected yet feared, he embodied the inevitability of mortality.

Hades’ most famous story is his marriage to Persephone, daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest. One day, while Persephone picked flowers in a meadow, the earth opened beneath her. Hades rose in his chariot, seized her, and carried her to the underworld to be his queen.

Devastated, Demeter wandered the earth in search of her daughter, neglecting her duties. Crops withered, famine spread, and mortals suffered. Eventually, Zeus sent Hermes to bring Persephone back. But before leaving, Persephone had eaten a pomegranate seed, the food of the dead. Bound by this, she would return to the underworld for part of each year—bringing winter when she was gone and spring when she returned.

There are gods who rule the skies.
There are gods who walk the seas.
And then there is one who rules
what lies beneath the silence, the secrets,
the things we bury but cannot escape.

It is Pluto who claimed the sign of the Scorpion—Scorpio as his own. Scorpio is no ordinary creature. It crawls close to the earth, lives in the shadows, and wields its sting not for power, but for truth. For Scorpio, like Pluto, does not fear death. Death is not the end—it is a doorway, a crucible, a sacred fire that burns away all but what is real.

When Hades Lives in You:

If you were born under the sign of Scorpio, or feel its dark velvet energy in your chart, then Pluto moves in your blood like a silent tide.

You are the keeper of mysteries.

The one who looks where others flinch.

The one who feels so deeply it changes you.

Scorpio energy is:

• Emotional intensity – feels life at full volume; passion runs deep beneath a calm surface.

• Transformative power – drawn to growth through change, rebirth, and healing what lies hidden.

• Magnetic presence – mysterious and captivating; others are instinctively pulled toward their depth.
