THE SUN

Once, when gods still walked among mortals and the world was strung with song, there was one whose radiance made even the stars blink.

He was the son of Zeus and Leto, twin brother to Artemis. As with all of Zeus’s infidelities, this caused the enduring wrath of Hera. Furious upon learning of Leto’s pregnancy, she cursed her, forbidding her from giving birth on any land touched by sun, sea, or earth. To ensure her vengeance, Hera also sent the serpent-dragon Python to pursue Leto wherever she went, preventing the birth of her divine children.

Exhausted and terrified, Leto wandered the world, searching for a safe haven. Every place refused her… until she came upon a small floating island in the Aegean Sea called Delos. Untethered to the earth, Delos was free of Hera’s curse. There, Leto gave birth first to Artemis, who immediately helped deliver her twin brother. He was Apollo, the golden one.

God of the Sun, music, poetry, healing, and prophecy. Wherever he stepped, the world brightened in steady, unshakable brilliance.

Each day he rode his chariot across the sky, dragging the sun behind him like a blazing crown. But Apollo was not merely heat and flame—he was order and beauty, divine harmony made flesh. Every note from his golden lyre sang of truth, and every ray of sunlight revealed what had been hidden.

And so, when the zodiac wheel turned, Apollo laid his crown upon the sign of the Lion—Leo, the royal-hearted sun-child of the cosmos.
